Teaser trailers are often used to tease an audience; it deliberately previews none or a small amount of the film to make the audience intrigued and then suddenly stop it so the audience will want to see more and watch the entire film.
Theatrical trailers tend to be longer and give more information away about the film but still intrigued the audience (for example, they may reveal that Daniel Craig is featuring as the new James Bond by having quick cut of his face in some action shots holding a gun).
